The CNI C(G)-391 Connector is our most compact 100-pair central/remote office connector. This 238 mm high (9.37 in.), narrow-profile connector is designed to increase frame capacity without sacrificing valuable workspace. One 303-type connector can be replaced by two C(G)-391 connectors – doubling the pair count in the same space.
The C(G)-391 connector is ideal for use in remote switch and digital line carrier locations, as frame space in huts and controlled environment vaults (CEVs) is usually at a premium. The C(G)-391 connector is also compatible with Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) and Centrex systems that use combination frame configurations – where terminal blocks and connectors are mounted on the same side of the frame. It also provides an excellent termination point for protector frame systems that use separate intermediate distribution frames for cross-connecting.
The C(G)-391 connector’s narrow profile provides 114 mm (4.5 in.) of workspace between adjacent connectors, allowing ample room for cross-connect (jumper) wiring and frame administration. The angled mounting allows easy access to the individual protector units, arranged in a 10x10 configuration. The front facing jumper and test fields are always within reach and the front and rear snap-through fanning strips encourage orderly wire management to simplify maintenance efforts. The stub cable and jumper wire terminations are completed using wire-wrap technology.
The C(G)-391 connector may be ordered stubless or with 22 or 24 AWG stub cable. Connectors equipped with a stub cable are shipped in the stub-down orientation. The stub direction may be reversed in the field as required.
The C(G)-391 connector accepts the full line of industry-standard 303-type, 5-pin protector modules including hybrid, solid-state and gas tube modules. The protector module contacts in the C(G)-391 connector are available with either tin-alloy or gold- plating. Accordingly, the plating on the pins of the protector modules should match the connector to ensure optimal performance.
